A definitive work on Ostend 1906, one of strongest tournament of the time. Original books were either with only 50 games (Bardeleben) or remained unfinished (Marco). First 80 pages of Gillams book examine detailed history of the tournament and biographical sketches of ca 40 players, inclusive those from amateur and minor tournaments, all acompanied by photos. Game section contains 326 games of the Master tournament (1.Schlechter, 2.Maroczy, 3.Rubinstein etc.) and 37 games of other events. Many games are annotated by great players of the day. Indexes of players, openings and 15 crosstables at the end. Author, Tony Gillam, is a noted chess historician.
