He was of Jewish nationality, and before the 2nd World War, he went to the Soviet Union. Vladimir Moshchenko is acclaimed Russian novelist and poet, and he was a friend of Salo Flohr for many years. This book tells the story of their long friendship, including information, which was not published earlier - how Salo Flohr felt in the role of a refugee who lost his homeland, about his life in the Soviet Union etc. Accompanied by many interesting photos. The book contains also 39 annotated games and game fragments, mostly with Salo Flohr's own comments. This part of the book was edited by Sergei Voronkov. Bibliography, indexes of games and openings.
