(In English known as A Practical Black Repertoire with d5, c6. Volume 2: The Caro-Kann and Other Defences). Black wants to play the classical main variation, which arises after 1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 dxe4 4.Nxe4 Bf5 5.Ng3 Bg6 6.h4 h6 7.Nf3 Nbd7 8.h5 Bh7 9.Bd3 Bxd3 10.Qxd3 e6. Author analyzes both this line and all other possibilities of White between the 2nd and 9th move like 2.Nc3, 2.d3, 2.c4, 2.b3, 3.e5, 3.exd5 (both with and without c4), 3.f3, variations without 6.h4, etc. The last 100 pages cover the Black repertoire in the English opening (1.c4 c6), Reti (1.Nf3 d5) and in other openings, where White does not play 1.e4 or 1.d4. Alexei Kornev is strong grandmaster and long-year trainer, author of several succesful opening books.
