Curacao 1962 was the last Candidates tournament. 8 players played a quadruple round-robin, 28 rounds in all (Tal withdraw after round 21 due to illness). The winner and Botvinniks challenger was Petrosjan with score 17,5 of 28, ahead of Geller, Keres, Fischer, Korchnoi, Benko, Tal and Filip. Jan Timman analyses most games of the tournament in detail and describes also tournament atmosphere as well - all games between Soviet Union players Petrosjan, Keres and Geller ended as short draws - their collusion was disclosed later.
