Title: The Art of the Endgame |
|
Jan Timman, one of world top players for many years, is fascinated by endgame studies and composes them for all his chess career. His first studies were composed in early 1970s. The book with subtitle My Journeys in the Magical World of Endgame Studies contains about 240 studies, sorted by themes into 14 chapters. About 120 studies are composed by Timman himself, the others are by various composers - mostly such, which inspired him for his own work. All studies are with solutions and detailed authors explanations. Jan Timman writes in the foreword: I wanted to show systematically, why endgame studies are so beautiful and so interesting. Index of composers at the end. Further information about the book and a sample are available at newinchess.com
