Title: Playing the Trompowsky |
|
The Trompowsky, 1.d4 Nf6 2.Bg5, was uncommon for several decades but now it is a serious opening. Author, who plays it for 15 years, examines the opening from the point of Whites repertoire. It is a good idea that - unlike other repertoire books - Richard Pert offers always two possibilities for White, namely: 2..e6 3.e4 or 3.Nd2!?; 2..c5 3.Nc3!? or 3.d5; 2..Ne4 3.Bf4 c5 4.d5 or 4.e3; 2..Ne4 3.Bf4 d5 4.e3; 2..d5 3.Bxf6 or 3.e3. The author also covers 2.Bg5 in lines 1.d4 d5 2.Bg5 and 1.d4 f5 2.Bg5. Index of variations in the end. Further information about the book and a sample are available at qualitychess.co.uk
