The tourmanent book of the first and most famous of Hastings tournaments contains all 231 annotated games, history of the tournament, round summaries - about 2 pages each, short biographical sketches of participants, indexes of games and openings. The winner was Pillsbury 16,5 of 21, followed by Chigorin, Lasker, Tarrasch, Steinitz, Schiffers, von Bardeleben, Teichmann, Schlechter, Blackburne etc., 22 players round robin. This Russian book is translated from the 1896 German edition and contains 24 plates on heavy coated paper with photos of all participants, which are not present in the original book. Also round summaries written by B. Trubicyn are new. The book was first time published in Russian in St. Petersburg 1995 - on common paper without plates - this is the Second Russian edition.
