The author, Danish GM renowned for his deep opening preparation, offers a repertoire for Black against 1.d4 based on the Semi-Slav. After initial moves 1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.Nf3 Nf6 4.Nc3 e6 is material sorted intop several chapters, always 40-60 pages long. Examined are: the sharp Botvinnik variation 5.Bg5 dxc4 6.e4 b5; the next two chapters give an alternative for Black in the 5th move: Moscow 5.Bg5 h6 6.Bxf6 and Anti-Moscow 5.Bg5 h6 6.Bh4. The fourth and fifth chapter deal with the Meran 5.e3 Nbd7 6.Bd3 dxc4 and Anti-Meran 5.e3 Nbd7 6.Qc2. The minor lines like 5.g3 or 4.cxd5 are presented in the last chapter.
