(In English known as A Practical Black Repertoire with Nf6, g6, d6 Volume 1: The King's Indian Defence) This repertoire work, based on Black's opening moves Nf6, g6, d6 appears in two volumes: this volume examines all the openings except the King's Indian Defence, which is in volume 2. The Pirc Defence is analyzed on ca 180 pages. After 1.e4 d6 2.d4 Nf6 3.Nc3 g6, all possibilities of White in the 4th move are covered: 4.Nf3, 4.f4, 4.Bc4, 4.Be2, 4.g3, 4.f3, 4.Bg5, 4.Be3 etc. Also sidelines in the 3rd move. Openings 1.d4 Nf6 where White does not play c4 (London System, Torre, Trompowsky) are analyzed on ca 60 pages. The rest deals with English, Reti and uncommon openings. Index of variation at the end.
