Title: Understanding Maroczy Structures |
|
Both authors, who have written the successful book The Center, offer another strategic theme. In the book, they discuss Maroczy structures for both sides - typical positions, the plans and ideas, strategic and tactical motives, etc. The Maroczy set-up arises mostly from the Sicilian, eg 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 g6 5. c4 or from the English opening, but it can also arise from other openings like the King's Indian etc. The material is presented on 127 complete annotated games divided by topic, as shown in Figure 2. Both authors are Grandmasters and long-time coaches with the title FIDE Senior Trainer. Further information about the book and a sample are available at thinkerspublishing.com
