A substantially updated/enlarged edition of the book, which was published shortly after the match in 1970, was compiled by Douglas Griffin and Igor Zveglic. The book contains all 40 games, mostly annotated in detail by the players themselves, now all in English (in the original edition the comments of Russian players were only in Russian). In this edition, there are also new translations of articles from the Russian press, background information of the match and preparation of the Soviet team, extended biographies of players, excerpts from later interviews, etc. The Match of the century was played on 10 boards, 4 rounds. Five world champions and the best players of the time took part: Spassky, Petrosian, Korchnoi, Polugaevsky, Geller, Smyslov, Taimanov, Botvinnik, Tal, Keres, Stein, Bronstein on the side of the USSR and Larsen, Fischer, Portisch, Hort, Gligoric, Reshevsky, Uhlmann, Matulovic, Najdorf, Ivkov, Olafsson, Darga on the side of the World.
