The book contains more than 2,000 endgame studies - miniatures, that is, those with 7 or fewer pieces. The studies are from the last 150 years and are arranged by subject, as shown in picture 2. All studies include the author, diagram, date and place of first publication, and solutions with analyses. The author, Yochanan Afek, is recognized as one of the best experts and composers of studies of the last decades. He is the author of the books Practical Chess Beauty (Russian: Uchites pobezhdat krasivo), Extreme Chess Tactics (Russian: Ekstremalnaya shakhmatnaya taktika) and others.
