The world chess organization FIDE was founded in Paris in 1924. This book is published on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of its founding and presents the history of FIDE from its beginnings to the present day. The book contains hundreds (estimated 400-500) of both black and white and color of photographs and illustrations, often little known or previously unpublished. All is accompanied by word explanations. Willy Iclicki is chairman of the FIDE Historical Committee. He has written several publications on FIDE and is probably the greatest expert on its history.
