(Jaroslav Jezek, 1926-1998. The forgotten chess master from Pilsen). The book provides a detailed account of the early years of master Jaroslav Jezek, specifically the period from 1943 to 1955. It includes a biography, 554 partially annotated games, most of which are being published for the first time, around 50 photographs, and a lot of other information. The authors, chess historian Vlastimil Fiala and Jaroslav Jezek's son Jan, himself a master-class player, drew on Jaroslav Jezek's archive, so the book covers all the tournaments and matches he played during this period, including results and tournament crosstables. Jaroslav Jezek was one of the best Czechoslovak players in the 1950s. In 1955 and 1957, he finished in joint 5th place at the Czechoslovak Championships. He played at the 1956 Moscow Olympiad and the 1957 European Team Championship. He was also a GM in correspondence chess, but the book only contains practical games. 3 pictures
