This is the first book on the British Chess Association Congress, held in London 1886. The book contains the history of the tournament, all 78 games + 4 play-off ones. Many games are in fact published for the first time as they were found in old chess columns and similar hardly available sources. All games are deeply annotated, often with interesting notes about players and tournament atmosphere. The result was 1.-2. Blackburne, Burn, 3.-4. Gunsberg, Taubenhaus, followed by Mason, Lipschuetz, Mackenzie, Zukertort, Schallopp, Pollock, Mortimer, Hanham and Bird. Series Rare and Unpublished Tournaments and Matches 64.
