The book contains 72 games and fragments with Petr Romanovsky's own notes, as well as his detailed biography by Sergei Tkachenko. Petr Romanovsky, 1892-1964, was one of the best Soviet players in his time, according to Chessmetrics he was ranked 12th in the world in 1925. He was a two-time USSR champion - in 1923 in St. Petersburg and in 1927 in Moscow (together with Bohatirchuk). He belonged to the founders of the Soviet Chess School, was known as a coach (Averbakh, ao.), he wrote 16 books.
