This collection of beautiful combinations is based on the famous magazine Shakhmaty (Shahs), which was published in Riga in two language versions, Russian and Latvian, in 1959-1990. The magazine (Russian version) had a circulation of about 50,000 copies in the 1980s and was distributed in more than 50 countries. The editor-in-chief for many years was the eighth world champion Mikhail Tal, who was always very active in creating the content. The magazine was published fortnightly, and the back cover used to contain twelve selected beautiful combinations, mostly from current tournaments, in the "Find the best continuation" section. This section was one of the most popular parts of the magazine because the editors always chose the examples very carefully. This book contains practically all the combinations published in this section between 1980 and 1990. The book is intended for intermediate and stronger players. 4 pictures
