Cover somewhat soiled, which was probably caused by printing house. Paul Felix Schmidt, 1916-1984, was strong Estonian/German master. The book contains 254 games and game fragments from 1931-1971 = all that could the author find. Many games are annotated by Schmidt himself or by other players. Brief biography, career record, 29 crosstables, illustrations in text. Schmidt was together with Keres the best Estonian player in 1930s. The match against Keres ended +3 -3 = 1 in 1937. Schmidt won tournaments Tallinn 1935, Pjarnu 1937, Bad Oeynhausen 1941 (with Klaus Junge). He was was 2x Estonian champion, took part in Olympiads Stockholm 1937 and Buenos Aires 1939. He lived in Germany since 1939, and later in the USA. Schmidt was one of the strongest players in the world in the early 1940s - in 1943, his historical rating was 2696. Chess Masters Series no.19.
