The list includes Steinitz, Em. Lasker, Botvinnik, Tal, Fischer, Kasparov, Khalifman, Zukertort, Flohr, Nimzowitsch, Reshevsky, Bronstein, Korchnoi, Caruana, Gelfand, Zsuzsa Polgar, Ushenina, Kushnir, Levitina and others. The book does not contain games, but there is a lot of biographical information that 10-people team of authors collected for many years - some of these facts are hardly available from other sources. Besides Berdichevski, co-authors are for example Sergey Voronkov, Yuri Averbakh, I.+ V. Linders and other chess historians and experts.
