The book also provides biographical information and is accompanied by many photographs, including those from the family archive. Viktor Lvovich Korchnoi (1931-2016), nicknamed Viktor the Terrible for his uncompromising style, was a giant of the chess world with a 70-year career and more than 5,000 recorded games. He played two World Championship matches, was a 10-time World Championship Candidate, a four-time Soviet champion, and in 2006 became the World Senior Chess Champion.
