Reginald Pryce Michell, 1873-1938, was one of the best English chess players of the first third of the 20th century. He won the British Amateur Championship in 1902, represented England at the first Olympiad in London 1927 and at Folkestone 1933, and shared second place with Alekhine, Bogolyubov and Muffang at Margate 1923. During his career he drew with four world champions - Capablanca, Aljechin, Euwe and Botvinnik.
