Fair: edges and corners rubbed, front cover at fore-edge more. Binding somewhat soiled. Front endpaper, which is well repaired at spine, is well stained, with residua of old paper tape. Rear endpaper soiled near spine. Old stamp THE RETREAT / YORK on title, halftitle and on endpapers. Old small blind stamp of previous seller on ffep. Internally occasional marks in old pen, pages occasionally a little stained but nothing serious, generally OK. (2x real photo). LN 605. Whyld 1817:19. Code #5894.

London, printed for Samuel Baxter, 1810, A new edition, Volume 1: XXXIX (inclusive frontispiece), 1 blank, 368p. Volume 2: IV, 374 pages. Contemporary half-leather, spines lettered. Still Good: bindings somewhat rubbed. Outer front hinges of both volumes are cracked along spine but bindings are still holding. Endpapers somewhat stained/soiled. At volume 2, front free endpaper is amateurish repaired with paper tape at spine (picutre 3) and rear endpaper is s little creased. Frontispiece and title a little stained. Text with occasional minor foxing but generally clean and with no writings. The books are complete - volume 2 was published without frontispiece. (3x real photo). LN 603. Whyld 1810:5. Code #6707.
