Rashid Nezhmetdinov, 1912-1974, is considered one of the best and most original attackers in the history of chess. He has won the Russian Championship 5 times, according to Chess Metrics his rating today would be 2700+. He did not receive the Grandmaster title mainly because he did not have the opportunity to play abroad and in tournaments where the norm could be fulfilled.
