The book presents Rogard's biography, focusing in particular on his role as FIDE President. Rogard transformed FIDE and organized international chess at a time when the Communist East and the capitalist West were fighting on many fronts. The Swedish lawyer Rogard was caught in between, trying to mediate and act neutral. Failure from his side would have divided the chess world even more and stalled the organization he was trying to build. The book is without games.
