The book describes the history, games and results of a total of 42 matches between the teams of Oxford and Cambridge Universities from 1873-1914. The large format book also contains a lot of information about the chess history of both universities, about the important players with whom the universities came into contact (Staunton, Loewenthal, Steinitz, etc.), about correspondence matches between the two universities, the statutes of the clubs, etc. There are included all 454 now accessible games, many of them annotated, photographs, statistics, several indexes and appendices.
