Separate chapters (about 100 pages) are devoted to the golden era of chess in Trnava, that is the period 1974-1990, when Lokomotiva Trnava became the national champion of teams and when the international tournaments Tirnavia took place. Practically all the best Czechoslovak players and many top foreign players took part in these tournaments over the years. There are also medallions of ca 20 personalities who are in some way connected with Trnava chess, such as Plachetka, Banas, Lanc, Puskas, Szitkey, Mach, Hermanek, Smejkal, Ftacnik and others. The author Ladislav Dubravsky is a chess enthusiast and has been interested in the history of chess in Trnava for a long time.
