The English Attack in the Najdorf Sicilian (2..d6, 5..a6), is based on the moves Be3 and f3. After Nunn, Short, Chandler and others successfully used this variation in 1980s, it became popular and today is the line in repertoire of most players who play classical Sicilian as White, inclusive Kasparov, Anand etc. The author, IM Tapani Sammalvuo was Finnish Champion in 1998. He represented Finnland in several Olmypiads and has extensive experience on both sides of the English Attack. Deep analysis, English with figurine notation.
