(Emanuel Lasker. A psychologist on the throne). History of Lasker's World championship matches, accompanied by 100+ diagrams, which bring important moments in particular games. The second world champion, Emanuel Lasker, 1868-1941, won the championship title in 1894 against Steinitz and kept it until 1921, when he lost a famous match with Capablanca. Lasker is still considered one of the most powerful chess players in history. The author focuses on Lasker's biography and especially on the eight world championship matches: Lasker won revenge match against Steinitz 1896/97 with result 10:2 (=5), 1907 defended his title against Marshall 8:0 (=7), 1908 won against Tarrasch 8:3 (=5). In 1909 and 1910, Lasker twice clearly won against Janowski 7:1 (=2) and 8:0 (=3). In the meantime, he defended with result 1:1 (=8) his title against Schlechter in 1910. The book also includes several annotated and 180 unannotated Lasker's games from tournaments, his combinations and career record.
