The book contains all 943 currently available games from thirteen Romanian individual championships from 1977 to 1989. A total of 1532 games were played, but because the Romanian chess archive was mysteriously lost, the records of the games had to be collected again. Since very few games were published in the Romanian magazine Revista de sah and the bulletins were published in only two years (1985 and 1988), games were difficult to find. The author contacted 20 players from whom he acquired most of the games, but it seems that almost 600 games are definitely lost. Among the winners of the championships were Gheorghiu, Suba, Ciocaltea, Ghinda, Foisor, Grunberg, Negulescu and Marin. The games are accompanied by diagrams but are not annotated. At the beginning of each tournament is its crosstable and ca two pages of word comments. Photos in text, crosstables, name index. The title mean: White squares, black squares.
